Keyboard player and vocalist Aidan Goldstraw is the leader of Feels Like Midnight. Aidan read music at the University of East Anglia, and is one of the UK’s most in-demand solo pianists for functions and events. He has appeared at some of the country’s most prestigious venues, including Blenheim Palace, Raymond Blanc’s Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and The Dorchester Hotel in London. Aidan is Director of Music at St Giles Parish Church, Newcastle-under-Lyme and also works as a freelance journalist and web designer.
Gillie Nicholls (vocals/acoustic guitar): Gillie is one of the best-known singer-songwriters on the UK folk and jazz scenes and is a former member of The Albion Band. A former winner of the Northern Songwriter of the Year Award, she has just released her third solo album, a collaboration with Steeleye Span bassist Tim Harries.
Cath Ralph (vocals): Cath has one of the best blues and soul voices in the country, which has seen her in heavy demand as a session artist. Among her many previous musical projects is a Commitments tribute. She combines her music work with her role as Chief Executive of Burslem Art Gallery in Stoke-on-Trent.
David Burndrett (upright/electric bass): David is a former pupil of Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester. His musical experience spans the genres – not only is he a veteran of many jazz and swing gigs, he is also in demand as an orchestral player with The Halle Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata.
Roger Inniss (upright/electric bass): Roger is one of the UK’s most in-demand bass players. The artists he has toured with include Chaka Khan, Kid Creole, Elkie Brooks, Ruby Turner, Zoot Money and The Steve Gibbons Band. He also fronts his own band, thEROGINNISSZONE. Roger endeavours to share some of his musical and philosophical ideas in schools, colleges and workshops around the UK.
Tim Bowes (drums): Tim’s refined drumming underpins Feels Like Midnight’s sound, from bossa nova to straight-ahead rock. Tim is also a member of up-and-coming soul/punk band This Is Seb Clarke. Tim also coaches the next generation of drummers at schools throughout the Warwickshire area.
John Thorrington (guitars): John is a veteran of the Midlands music scene, appearing in a wide range of bands and settings. He also works as a guitar teacher, based in Stoke-on-Trent.
John Watson (saxophone): A familiar face on the UK jazz scene, John has played with some of the genres top musicians. John stays on the music scene for the other aspect of his career, photographing some of the world’s top jazz players.

However, in such circumstances, we will include a deputy of comparable musical talent and experience. Bandleader Aidan Goldstraw will always be present to liaise with clients and venue staff.
