Aidan Goldstraw

Aidan has been playing the piano since he was five years old and did his first “paying gig” at the tender age of nine.

He read music at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, majoring in composition. During his degree studies he developed a strong interest in improvisational music, particularly jazz. He also played in a string of groups, from early classical music to progressive rock.

After leaving university Aidan became a journalist, but music remained his first love and in July 2006 he left the world of newspapers and now is both a professional entertainer and freelance web designer.

As well as performing he continues to compose and is also Director of Music at the parish church of St Giles in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire. He lives in Stoke-on-Trent.
